yesterday, soldiers, Police and pickets co-operating
in maintaining peace. The Provinsional Administrative Comittee has decided to withdraw the toops and pickets
on the morning of the oth, and the Public Peace Bureau will send to the Concession a police force of 190, consisting

of 60 constables in uniform, 30 in plain clothes, 4 officers,
5 detectives and 5 translators to take their places and to be responsible alone for the good orae there.
Eugene Chen, Chairman of the Committee, has appointed Iu Yam Wa, Chief Inspector of the Public Peace Bureau, as
Provisional Director of the Branch Public Peace Bureau to tase comand of the Police, but ne himself will still be responsible for all other things. A meeting was held last night at the Branch Public Peace Bureau, and 3 resolutions
were made as to the duty of the Police:-
(1) Nobody shall be allowed to loite or commit
any irregularity in the Concession. Any body
who refuses to obey the older of any policeman
shall be arrested and punished.
(2) Nobody shall be allowed to throw stones, and theft
shall be strictly prohibited.
(3) Due protection shall be afiorded to foreigners,
and anybody who commits assault, shall be arrested. The 29th Company of the 10th Division sent by
the City Garrison Commissioner has been withdrawn to-day, but there is still a small number of pickets of tile General Labour Union, assisting in maintaining order and
peace.
The Customs has resumed worn and steaner traffic
has also returned to normal condition.
